American Friends of Yad Eliezer now partners with B'ezri
This is such a special Yad Eliezer story that it doesn’t need a big introduction or a lot of details. It’s one of those stories that simply IS. It stands on its own and moves everyone who hears it.
Yehuda Meir is a boy who has been bravely battling cancer for over two years. It goes without saying that a child who goes through this kind of experience is incredible, showing strength way beyond their years, and that definitely applies to him. Recently, after months of isolation followed by a bone marrow transplant, B”H Yehuda Meir was released from the hospital. This wonderful event occurred during Israel’s most recent lockdown, and also coincided with another wonderful event: Yehuda Meir's bar mitzvah. The occasion was so momentous that something unique just had to be done.
The Zichron Menachem organization, which provides support for cancer patients and their families, knew of Yehuda Meir's important milestone. They requested and received exclusive permission allowing him to go to the Kotel with his family to commemorate his meaningful day. This was great news, but one thing was missing: Tefillin.
Cue Yad Eliezer.
As soon as one of our donors heard of the family's plans, he jumped at the opportunity to provide Yehuda Meir with brand new, beautiful tefillin and a case of his own, ensuring that this incredible kid would be able to lay tefillin on his bar mitzvah day and for many years to come.
Mazal tov, Yehuda Meir! We were thrilled and thankful to take part in your simcha!
