Stand With Israel
Wives of miluim (reserves) soldiers. Needy families. Almanos. These are just some of the households assisted this Chanukah by AFYE/B’ezri, with support that’s brought them warmth, light and encouragement in honor of the holiday.
Wives of miluim soldiers have been holding down the fort for weeks and months on end since October 7. Balancing the emotional complexities-worry and anxiety over having a husband away at war, with the logistics and financial impact of running a home alone can be overwhelming at best. AFYE/B’ezri reaches out to provide help throughout the year through our Stand With Israel campaign. But in time for Chanukah, we also organized a special promotion, gifting them with best selling cookbooks including messages from the authors themselves. The books, a gesture of appreciation for all they’re doing, were received with tremendous gratitude.
“Thank you so much for the thoughtful message and gift. As our boys come back from Gaza, we are preparing them awesome food inspired by you. Thank you!”
“Thank you so much AFYE/B'ezri and Between Carpools for the tastiest Chanukah gift! The kids are already making lists of all the recipes we need to try!”
“Thank you so much for the cookbook. I just got it and already made two things for Shabbat when our soldiers were home! We all enjoyed immensely. Thank you for supporting our troops and those of us who support them!”
Needy families
In what has become a yearly tradition for one of our donors, over 1500 needy families were assisted this Chanukah with packages of popular games for evenings of entertainment and fun. This thoughtful initiative means so much to so many. It ensures that parents and children can take a break and spend quality time together during Chanukah, using gifts that are not only fun, but are of high quality, so they can be played this year and also for years to come. Parents in struggling homes worry over how to afford
food and clothing and school tuition. Winter cold adds
heating bills,
good coats and warm blankets to their worries, pushing the ability to buy nice Chanukah gifts for their families further and further away from reality. So the project really fills a need, ensuring they can celebrate with some Chanukah fun just as other families do.
"To the B’ezri organization,
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the unique and special package of games for our family for Chanukah. The children were so happy and really enjoyed everything so of course we as parents did, too. Yehi Ratzon that Hashem should fulfill all your requests. May He give you shefa, siyata d’shmaya and kol tuv-amen.
With great appreciation and thanks,
K. family"
"To the B’ezri organization,
We would like to bless you with all our hearts for the valuable Chanukah package that kept our children busy during the chag. Because of my husband’s health issues the entire atmosphere in our home has been down recently and when Chanukah arrived it was almost sad. Everyone was feeling depressed. We had just lit the candles when the call came to come pick up the games. No money could have done what these games did. It brought an atmosphere of happiness, light and simcha to our entire family.
Yasher Koach & Tizku L’mitzvos, may you always be able to be m’sameach Klal Yisrael,
S. family"
Widows and Orphans
Struggling with the loss of a father affects his family every single day of the year. But when holidays arrive, his absence is magnified. This Chanukah, a special distribution, 900 NIS of aid, was sponsored for forty of B’ezri’s newer and neediest almanos, to help them bring simcha into the chag for their children. Thankfully, that’s just what happened:
“Good afternoon B'ezri! I want to thank you for all the chesed you do for us, every time you surprise us anew and simply cause us to smile and to lift our heads above water. You remind us how much Am Yisrael cares for one another, it is definitely not something we take for granted. We are very, very, very thankful to you. Chanukah sameach.”
“I mamash, mamash thank you. I am truly at a loss for words. May Hashem reward you, His shlichim tovim!”
“Wow, wow, wow, how emotional you've made us! And what simcha you've brought. Thank you very much. We will treat the children thanks to you.”
“To the dear donors!
A huge thanks for bringing us simcha and lighting up our hearts, as you have given with all your hearts. You've touched us very much! We bless you with all the brachot in the world, that Hashem should fill all your desires for the good. May you always see bracha, hatzlacha and Siyata D'shmaya in all you do! And just like the light and happiness you’ve brought may Hashem light the way for you all the days of your life, may it be long. We are appreciative to no end. May you have a Chanukah filled with light and joy.”
