Helping Underprivileged Brides Stand Under the Chuppah
When Shaina walked into the Yad Eliezer offices, it was like a positive, dynamic energy entered right along with her. We knew immediately that this was a woman on a mission, and what a mission it turned out to be! With a bag of money in her hand, and a smile on her face Shaina approached one of our staff members and asked, "Where can I make a donation for your wedding program?"
Shaina explained that she worked as a hair stylist, and saved her ma'aser money to donate to Yad Eliezer, specifically to help new couples in need who are struggling to make their weddings. She hoped that her donation would be a recurring one, as she recognized the great need that so many have. Her joy and enthusiasm made such an impression on us that I asked Shaina to tell me a little bit about her inspiration for her wonderful initiative.
"I chose Yad Eliezer because I wanted to find a legitimate organization to
help underprivileged kallahs stand under the Chuppah and have memories of their very special day.
I wanted to be a part of making that happen.
As a Baal Teshuva of 7 years now struggling to find my match and get married it hasn’t been an easy road.
I truly believe that in the meanwhile of being single, a Jewish woman should do everything in her power to build a proper vessel to receive. As a positive, optimistic person, I try as best as I can to make every day count with meaning and lots of Simcha.
Giving and Chessed are the ultimate ways of stepping out of yourself and seeing how truly blessed you are.
Thank you so much for letting me be part of this amazing organization."
Yad Eliezer thinks you're pretty amazing, too, Shaina, thank you!
