School Supplies Distribution

Thanks to a generous grant from an anonymous donor, Yad Eliezer is ensuring that children from impoverished homes will start the school year with new school supplies, just like their friends. Gift certificates to a large stationary store were distributed to over 200 children from impoverished homes. Many of these children have never started school with their own brand new set of supplies- unsharpened pencils, crisp new notebooks. Besides the actual supplies they need for school, this gives them the feeling of belonging, of self-confidence, of being just like their peers, and not having to be embarrassed that all they have is the old pencils from last year or the used notebooks from their older siblings.
