Help us support Israeli families in need with school supplies
The first day of first grade is supposed to be exciting and fresh, but little Miriam of Netivot isn't looking forward to it at all. Her parents promised her months ago that she would have a nice new backpack and school supplies for first grade, but her father, a taxi driver had almost no income this summer as everyone in the city stayed in their bomb shelters and his services were not needed. His income is tightly stretched to meet the family's needs under the best of circumstances, but this month it doesn't even come close. The new school year is only a couple of weeks away.
We want Miriam and others like her to start the school year on the right foot, so Yad Eliezer has ordered $110,000 worth of school supplies to be distributed in the south (10% is being donated by the suppliers). In addition we are strengthening our regular programs and
providing baby formula,
food boxes and
emergency help to single-parent families and to families struggling to survive the ravages of poverty.
Please help us help them get back to normal.
