Baby bottles are diluted to unhealthy amounts; each feeding with only a fraction of the calories recommended by doctors. Bread is rationed in small amounts, not nearly enough to satisfy growing children. Bread and Milk was established in 2013 to ease the pressure of struggling families. Just like the simplicity of its name, Bread and Milk focuses on the basics - ensuring that no child will go hungry. Hundreds of children remember lying in bed wishing for just one more piece of bread. Today these same children happily end their days with full stomachs and a sense of security. Their parents are relieved of a huge burden as well.
Bread and Milk recipients are carefully screened to ensure that every dollar goes to a family in dire need. They shop for regular groceries and have the bread and milk put on a seperate account paid fully by American Friends of Yad Eliezer | B'ezri. These families then notify us when they get a new source of income, enabling us to move on to the next name on the waiting list.
Your generous donation will grant these families the gift of dignity, the encouragement to face another day's challenges, and the comforting knowledge that they don't need to worry about bread and milk again.
