American Friends of Yad Eliezer now partners with B'ezri
It's difficult to comprehend that a year has passed since the Lag B'Omer tragedy in Meron.
That fateful Thursday night, 46 families lost loved ones through the unimaginable horror, which forever altered their lives.
By Friday morning, American Friends of Yad Eliezer had already begun to establish and implement our Meron Crisis Relief Campaign, knowing that these families would be in need of emergency aid. And from the start, donors stepped forward to contribute to our Keren Meron and the results have been incredible.
Over this past year, so unimaginably difficult for the victims' families, more than $600,000 has been allocated to alleviate their most pressing needs through that Keren. Our representatives consult with each family on an ongoing basis to determine exactly what those needs are.
We've distributed funds for:
-Emotional therapies for Almanos, Yesomim, parents, siblings, grandparents or any other family members who are struggling
-Monthly stipends designated for Almanos to help cover their families' requirements
-Construction costs to adjust / expand parents' and in-laws' homes to accommodate new Almanos & their children
-Medical and hospitalization costs for victims
-Yom Tov help to assist with expenses for holidays including Sukkos, Chanukah and Pesach
-A therapeutic retreat for all the families, including counseling sessions and activities for children at the Dead Sea
-Other critical necessities for the families that arise, ranging from new glasses to dental expenses and anything in between
American Friends of Yad Eliezer continues to work with the Meron families, ensuring they are receiving vital financial support, and the knowledge that they are not alone. We and the rest of Am Yisrael are there for them in their time of most dire need.
Please help us continue to make a difference in their lives; to look after the Almanos and Yesomim of Meron-Lag B'omer, תשפ"א.
Look what one family has to say: "With great emotion and appreciation, with these few words, we must thank you for your generosity and caring - for listening with an understanding & open heart, sensitivity and wisdom throughout this past year. And the ikar - you have given us the best feeling and have been a source of support. You've helped us daily and for Simchas HaChag. Our brachot for you are that the Yoshev BaShamayim, who truly knows all you've done, is the One who will Yeshalem Sacharchem. May you always be healthy and see great Nachat from your children עד ביאת גואל צדק אכי"ר."
