IDF Soldiers are Warmer this Winter
Combat Engineering Corps unit receives critical support from Yad Eliezer
Thursday, February 18, 2021
IDF soldiers are on call 24/7, ready to protect and help Israeli citizens at a moment's notice, but who looks out for them when they're the ones in need? When the call went out on behalf of a unit from the IDF Combat Engineering Corps for urgent assistance, Yad Eliezer was there to answer.
With the winter weather creating frigid temperatures and icy rain throughout the country, quality winter gear is a necessity for anyone, and especially those who spend a good amount of time outside, exposed to the elements for hours on end. The soldiers in one IDF unit were lacking specific items that they needed and Yad Eliezer was happy to step in, providing funds for the purchase of thermal shirts and socks, Dri-Fit shirts, quality footwear and even fleece-lined, waterproof jackets, "סופטשלים", for every member of the unit.
Yad Eliezer knows first hand how critical the right equipment is for any task (whether we are packing food boxes at our warehouse for needy families, setting up weddings for needy couples, or running any of our myriad programs) and that these army necessities make a real difference, helping keep the soldiers warmer, dryer and more comfortable, enabling them to do their jobs better.
All members of this unit were extremely grateful for Yad Eliezer's help and dedication. The feeling is mutual!
Pesach is quickly approaching, and our IDF Holiday Campaign for needy soldiers is underway. See how you can make a difference in a struggling soldier's life, this yom tov.
