Needy Families are Now Receiving Beautiful Winter Coats
Sunday, November 15, 2020
Right on time, Yad Eliezer’s winter coats have arrived and are now being distributed throughout the country. Needy families in more than 30 cities and towns are receiving these brand new coats (items many haven’t had in years) to help get through the cold, wet winter.
Yad Eliezer is among the most efficient Jewish charities for the poor. We are always thinking ahead and by placing the order for our Winter Warmth Campaign months ago we were able to get the best prices on these high quality winter necessities which will bring relief to tens of thousands of people. The level of Israeli families living below the poverty line was already at about 20% pre-Corona, but due to unemployment caused by the pandemic, that percentage has significantly increased as there are more families than ever who are struggling to pay for basic necessities.
The winter weather in Israel has begun, with both the rain and temperatures falling. Cold and moisture seep through Israeli apartments easily every year, and without the proper items, poor families suffer terribly through the season. Please help us cover the costs for this vital program and together we will alleviate their misery.
