Tzedakah opportunity - warm coats for women and children from poor Israeli home
In recent years Yad Eliezer has been distributing thousands of warm, top quality winter coats to children of low income families with Winter-Warmth Campaign program. The thank you letters that we have gotten, describing children wearing their coats 24 hours a day so that they can sleep comfortably through the night in their unheated homes have made it clear that these coats are an essential item for the families that receive them.
The summer heat is still sizzling, but we are thinking ahead. We have ordered 5,952 top quality winter coats for boys and girls, that will be distributed as soon as the weather starts to turn cold.
And enjoy the rest of your summer while it lasts...
The heat is on, but it won't last forever. We know that winter is around the corner, and with it freezing temperatures that can chill the bones. Children whose parents don't have the means to keep the heat on, or to purchase warm clothing are at risk of illness in the inclement weather. Low-income families are often able to purchase cheap second-hand clothing, but it is rare to find a quality winter coat in good condition in second hand stores.
