A new truck for Yad Eliezer
Thursday, April 10, 2014
This is the most recent vehicle that our dear friends, Ben and Beth
Heller have donated to Yad Eliezer. Their previous truck has traveled
all over Israel - over 300,000 kilometers to far reaching communities
across the country, delivering food to hungry families, and supplies
to soldiers on the front lines. The new truck will allow Yad Eliezer
to bring relief and hope to even more lives, and with it's large
capacity, it will allow Yad Eliezer to shuttle more surplus produce
even more efficiently.
The truck couldn't have come at a better time! With Pesach fast
approaching, the new truck drove down to Sderot this week, where it
picked up ten tons of vegetables- mostly potatoes, to be delivered to
families in need.
Shloimi, the proud driver of the new truck, and his son Eli celebrated
Eli's seventh birthday while picking up and delivering the produce!
This morning, Shloimi was planning on helping his family prepare for Pesach.
Out of the blue, a donor of fruits and vegetables in Masmia,
(near Yad Binyamin in the south,) contacted Shloimi and told him
that he had peppers for him. With his wife's blessing, Shloimi drove down
and picked up about 4.5 ton of peppers. He then called Shloimi back and
told him that he has more vegetables. Shloimi is heading back today!
Many thanks to the Heller family, on behalf of the tens of thousands
of families that will benefit from their generosity!
