Pesach 2014 - Yad Eliezer

In Jewish communities around the world, the streets are filled with mothers buying new clothing and shoes for their families as Pesach is fast approaching. Closets are being cleaned, homes are being scrubbed. Menus are being planned and guests are being invited. It is a festive time, spring is in the air, and the anticipation is building. Yet poor families approach Pesach with fear and trepidation. If day to day life is is financially stressful, the extra expenses of matza, wine and new clothing threaten to push families over the edge. Parents strive to create a happy celebrations for their children, but without sinking deeper into debt, it seems impossible.

Last year Yad Eliezer distributed over a million dollars worth of essentials in honor of Pesach to many thousands of families: new clothing, chickens, supermarket vouchers and more. A special emphasis is put on helping almanos, grushos and agunos. As Pesach approaches, many of these families are wondering in last years miracle will recur this year- that they will be able to celebrate at least a temporary exodus from their weighty financial burden. That for the week of Pesach there will be proper clothing and shoes to wear and healthy, balanced meals to eat.
